My preliminary task taught me about using the camera and editing software giving me a crash course in making a film, our preliminary task may not have been the smoothest of films but it works and helped me understand many different filming techniques.
Some filming techniques i learnt about are; match on actions which is when a shot leads on to another shot while carrying the same action on, this is effective to use because it shows conuinty in a film so it runs smoothly and it means that viewrs are not bored with what they are watching because they are being shown different angles and shots but while being shown the same action.
Another technique i have learnt about is the 180 degree rule which makes sure that the film runs smoothly and does not look wrong, The 180 degree rule means that a camera is only allowed to film from one half of something, and not move suddenly over to the other side.
There are a lot of differences between my preliminary task and my final product for one there is a huge time difference which is significantly different between each my preliminary task is a lot shorter because we had a lot less time to make it and it wasnt meant to be longer than thirty secs, but our final text has to be at least two minutes. another difference between the two films is that the final task has a better storyline than the task because we had a limited amout of time to create it and didnt have long to make it, our film has a very in depth storyline, all the characters have deep back stories which make them seem real.
I have learnt a lot from making this film and i believe the skills i have shown while making the final text are very impressive considering i had only considered making a film at the start of the school year.
