6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of making this product?

At the start of this project I was not very skilled with a camera and a novice at editing software, I now believe that I am quite skilled in both the fields because of trial and error with filming the first two minutes of our film, and editing it. We had to over come obstacles as they came up in the filming, these hindered our work, things such as our actors pulling out at the last minute or saving the video files in the wrong place. Through having these errors and complications we learnt about the software first hand and while we were trying to edit our film.

While filming on the camcorder I learnt that it takes a lot longer than you expect to get a high quality angle which makes a film look good, I spent a while deciding what shots I was going to film in what settings to create the best effect. I also found it hard to get the camcorder to get into the right shot/place to make it look the best, it depended where we were because some of the places we filmed it was not possible to get the shots that we wanted. Another thing that i learnt from using the camera was that the more footage you have the better it is, we managed to get a few versions of each of our shots so we had a good amount of footage to play around with while editing.

While editing on Corel video editor I have learnt a few things, many shots do not work together because of the 180 degree rule and some of our shots needed to be re filmed so they worked out, and I found that some didn't look right while in editing. The editing is like the actual filming and it takes a lot longer that expected and I found my self spending a huge amount of time editing the film to make it exactly how I wanted it. Another thing I have learnt from Editing our film is that it is a lot easier when you know how to use the software and all the tricks and tips which i have learnt from using the software.

The music for our film was a struggle to find because we were very picky with what we wanted in our film we found it hard to settle on something me and my partner both liked, we learnt not to be so picky with what we had because we would never have gotten anything done. I also learnt with the sound that it is hard to make some sound line up and make everything sound correct in the whole two minutes, we managed to do it in the end.

I have learnt a lot about the way a film is made and how it is made because I have experienced it first hand and i now appreciate the process of it all and I believe that this whole experience has helped me know ow much work it takes to make a film.
